The story of Sodom & Gomorrah is one of the “clobber passages” used to say that homosexuality is a sin. That interpretation has been refuted time and time again; including by the Bible itself in Ezekiel 16:49:
Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.
Even Tony Campolo who still maintains that homosexuality is a sin rejects the story of Sodom & Gomorrah as being about gay people.
So what is Sodom about? And am I–are you–a sodomite?
