a workshop on developing spiritual practices that fit
Rituals have been used by Christian communities to help you embody practices that enrich your faith and equip you for work in the world.
But what happens when the rituals we grew up with start to feel stale?
Let’s work together to learn how to create rituals that fuel you and feed you.
You’ll learn historical Christian rituals, what they were intended to do and how you can use them to support and protect you when times are tough.
Then, you’ll learn new to create new rituals. You’ll claim your queerness as sacred and embody that through practice.
You’ll leave this workshop with your own set of rituals that fire you up to make a difference in the world and that buoy you up to be resilient in your work.
You're out and proud, and now you're ready for more integration.
You may have “figured it out” theologically but what does that look like in practice? In secular contexts, it’s easy: you go to Pride, you campaign for LGBTQ political issues, you’re involved in an employee resource group at work. But how are your spiritual practices queer? Rituals are powerful ways to embody our faith, and queerness should be part of that. Your queerness is sacred, let’s create some specific ways for you to live into that.
Being LGBTQ+ and Christian can be hard, you want to feel fulfilled, not exhausted.
When every day it’s some kind of onslaught of bad news. When your family isn’t affirming. When your church isn’t affirming. When your church IS affirming but you still feel like you can’t quite show up as all of who you are. When you’re burnt out and exhausted. How do you keep working for change? How do you connect to the deeper parts of yourself and to the Divine? How do you rest and renew yourself? Let’s work together to create practices that build resilience and restore your spirit.
